Précis of Credentials & Skills:

  • Extensive teaching experience at undergraduate levels in core engineering subjects including Engineering Materials & Manufacturing Processes, Fracture & Fatigue and Engineering Mechanics, and served as supervisor for Research students in Materials, Fracture Mechanics, Fatigue and Failure Analysis.
  • Prior to current appointment, I worked as Scientist, Researcher and Academic with various Universities and R&D Organisations in Australia, China, Germany and the Netherlands, including CSIRO, University of WA, James Cook University in Australia, Northeastern University in China, Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH in Germany and Delft University of Technology in Holland.
  • Extensive research and consultancy experience in structural analysis and mechanics, the fatigue, fracture and failure analysis of various engineering structures and materials including ceramics, nano-ceramics, ceramic thermal barrier coatings, microelectromechanical system (MEMS) materials, concrete, polymers and polymeric composites, as well as computational mechanics (FEM). Co-authored about 90 technical publications in these areas, and 10 confidential consulting reports.
