About Me

Dr Nathan Elsworthy completed his Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science (Honours) at The University of Newcastle. He obtained his PhD in 2015 through The University of Newcastle, under the supervision of Dr Ben Dascombe, and Associate Professor Darren Burke, investigating the physical and perceptual cognitive demands of team sport officiating. Nathan work involved examining the performance and development of team sports officials including Australian football, rugby league and soccer officials.

In 2015, Nathan was employed at Victoria University, Melbourne, as a lecturer within the College of Exercise and Sport Science, and was an associate member of the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Active Living. Nathan research is primarily focused on the development of team sports officials decision making abilities, in particular Australian Football Umpires.

Nathan has authored several peer-reviewed publications, and presented at numerous domestic and international conferences.
