About Me

I am a research-focused academic at CQUniversity Australia. My research during the last decade has focused predominantly on rural and regional economics, value chain analysis, property and health economics, economic impact assessment and regional development. Along with other researchers, significant levels of funding support (over 5.0 million dollar) have been received through the Category-1 and industry sources research grants and consultancy over the last 11 years for projects for which I was/is an associate investigator or chief investigator or project leader.

I have developed and designed non-linear decision support system in accessibility modelling for basic service provision that is capable of providing various planning scenarios. I have integrated economic models with planning models to estimate the resource boom and bust cycles and its impact on regional property market. Recently, I am developing hybrid business models that could boaster rural economic dynamics and international trade.

Over my academic career, I have been involved with about 60 research and consultancy projects, and published over 100 refereed papers and project reports. My works on rural and regional economic analysis, impacts assessment, rural supply and value chain analysis and hybrid business model development are widely appreciated.

Background

I am a rural and regional economists with a strong interest in economic theories, supply chain collaboration theories, decision theory and and economic impact assessment. After completing my PhD degree from the University of Queensland (UQ) in 2005, I commenced my career as a senior consultant with two planning firms in Brisbane along with a fractional appointment as a Sessional Academic and Research Officer at UQ. In 2008, I started my full time academic career in Australia as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with CQUniversity, where I successfully completed four Category-1 grant projects. Currently I am working with the School of Business and Law, where the focus of my teaching revolves around property economics, asset management and business research methods.
