About Me

Background

I have worked in the academic sector for at least 20 years. This time has been interspersed by roles in industry in high level positions mostly related to the education, across the board, of nurses, midwives, doctors, allied health, corporate and other supporting staff. This hands-on industry experience has provided me with a realistic appreciation of real world issues related to research, competence assessment, and maintaining up-to date knowledge and skills of a multi-disciplinary workforce providing frontline care to those in need of health care.

My research interests are in pain management, chronic illness, research methodology, the relationship of the role of practitioners in lead roles impacting a positive work environment embracing respect of staff and civility, quality and patient safety prerogatives to enhance patient outcomes and sustain a respectful and resilient workforce.
