About Me

I completed my PhD in Medicine and Community Health, focusing on nutrition and hypertension management and control as well as on probiotics and gut flora in health and disease. I am a registered nutritionist and a food scientist, passionate about dietary patterns and nutrients and their relationship with health and diseases. I joined CQU in 2016 with a strong belief in integrating research in teaching and practice.

I am primarily interested in understanding the factors influencing individual’s food choices and how to improve a population’s dietary behaviour and pattern. I am also interested in gut flora and its relationship with health and disease. The focus of my research is chronic disease, especially hypertension and obesity and dietary and lifestyle factors influencing the prevention and control of these disease.

· Dietary patterns and chronic diseases

· Functional foods and supplements and their role in health and disease

· Probiotics and prebiotics role in gut symbiosis and health

· Gut health and chronic disease

· Nutrition knowledge and its translation to dietary behaviour

· Dietary pattern, nutrients and sport performance
